Origin
Wenglor was founded by Dieter Baur in 1983. Starting merely with five employees, the company today employs more than 500 people in 43 countries and continues to grow.

Established as one of the 500 most successful midsize companies in Europe, over 50,000 leading customers throughout the world trust Wenglor to master their industrial automation challenges.

Plant Profile
Wenglor has two manufacturing plants in Tettnang and Romania with 260 and 150 employees each. The Tettnang plant carries all central functions of R&D, production, sales and administration department.

The Wenglor plant and subsidiaries are known for their quality control measures.

“Quality management has been a top priority for us ever since our company was founded,” said Parag Desai, CEO, Wenglor Sensoric India. “We believe that quality does not only mean that a product complies with applicable standards or specifications, but quality is also the basis for every action. Following the safety measures, every sensor is tested in-house before delivery,” he added.

Arary Of Products
The wide range of Wenglor products includes Photoelectric Sensors, Inductive Proximity Switches, Ident (Image Processing, Barcodescanner) and Safety Technology Solutions. The latest in the list is InoxSens.

The Inoxsens range provides users with sensors that fulfill requirements for industrial hygiene and cleaning. They are waterproof and resistant to chemicals. Inoxsens optical sensors, as well as other components included in the system such as mounting tubes and brackets, all supplement the Inoxsens range.

“We have also developed a complete new range of Ultrasonic Sensor and IO-Link Sensors,” Desai confirmed.

Reach & Recognitions
Wenglor has branches in 28 countries, with 43 partners worldwide. India is the wholly owned subsidiary of the company.

Wenglor has been awarded numerous distinctions for its extraordinary business success. To name a few, in the years 1999 through 2006, the company was a finalist in the international 'Entrepreneur of the Year' competition.

Wenglor was awarded membership of 'Europe's 500' business association in 1999. Companies work together within this European association in order to unite creative management and increased turnover with the creation of new jobs. “It was a major recognition,” stated Desai.

Future Forecast
Talking about the forthcoming ventures of the company, Desai declared, “We plan to increase the service to our customers with special product trainings and environment protection measures. We are in the process of bringing in more innovations, new products, system solutions and new Wenglor partners worldwide to enlarge the group.” The company also plans to expand its reach in the developing markets, thus scaling the export sales.
